Trade Secrets -- Why I Recommend Laura Day's book "How to Rule the World from Your Couch"

What if you found a Genie in a Bottle? What would you wish for? Just pretend. Make your wish. Outlandish, beautiful, selfish . . . it doesn't matter. Just wish. After all, you're just pretending.

. . . .

Sometimes people wonder how I get to be who I am and how I am. I would describe myself as in shape, stylish, loud, and happy. I paint bold, bright, paintings, sing, and have lots of friends. I know where the party is. What would be hard to believe is that I was once a scrawny, neglected, apologetic, nervous, lonely, and miserable English teacher. I forcibly smiled and worked myself sick while my marriage, health, and quality of life deteriorated.

What happenned? How did I get from Point A to today? Laura Day's book The Cirle taught me the art of wishing. You just wish and . . . hang on. Here it comes!

This book does not ask you to "believe" anything. Just wish, pretend, observe, and document.

Because of my incredible success with the Circle, I am now working with her book "How to Rule the World from Your Couch". It's a practical book that really gives you the edge: Intuition on the fly. Self possession. Sensing the pulse of the moment. Knowing the right word. Having the right skill. This book gets right to business, as practical as a First Aid kit, as fun as a bottle of Bubble Magic.

Also, if you're like me and enjoy fun "psychic phenomena" you can also use this book to have a great time with remove viewing, precognition, and seeing the world from someone else's perspective. Those of you have had some vivid psychic talent experiences will find practical advice on how to direct your skill, which is, by the way, very normal.

. . .

Back to that Genie in the Bottle. What if you could tuck that bottle in your purse just in case you needed a quick wish? Maybe you would need to untangle a frustrating situation, find a moment of joy, meet a friend, help someone who was hurting. You could just pull over and ask.

That would be fun! And you can do this.

You have so many abilities, perhaps hidden from yourself or formerly misdirected so that you did not recognize them. Now, you can get all your resources working together, to go from right where you are to right where you want to be. This book is about creating your own real world joy and success in your own way. I am working with it now!

You're really the genie. And your wish is your command! So, go and rule the world from your couch, or your car, or favorite park bench, or table at the coffee house. Laura's youtube videos on howtoruletheworldfromyourcouch.com will give you a preview.

Happy wishing!

Recommended for Artists

Great businesses that support our work:

Frame Destination -- this place has mats, those nifty clear bags, and bags made of very sturdy bubble wrap for transporting your framed art and canvases -- and they are nice people too who run a good business, and get your order right to you. They also sent out in the past some pictures of a hawk family who was nesting on a cell tower by their office, which was very cool, gotta love a business with heart.

Zazzle.com -- if you haven't done a set of art postcards with them, try it, just set up for free and see if you like them. Come by my booth and see my Zazzle postcards. Also, nice people, good business. They contact you to make sure your order got there alright.

Imagekind.com -- check my store, innovative idea and gets your work out there, nice community of artists to talk to, my experience is it was hard to get ahold of a caring individual to answer questions, and I have not checked the quality of their printing and it is not yet time for me to get paid, but it is truly spiffy looking and you can get started for free.

Enjoy! Live long and Prosper. Make lots of money!

Booth Visitors

There are three kinds of people who belong at my booth, friends and family (xoxo) , art buyers ($$ yum yum) and fellow artists (Let's talk shop!)

There are three kinds who do not: prosletizers, politicians, and, um, shall we call them lonely fellows. All I have to say to them is, this is an art market. The singles bar is down the street, way way down the street, like off the edge of the earth somewhere. Bye.

September Market

September

Those of you who are very in touch with the seasons will percieve the first subtle hints of fall are becomming more insistent, a faint chilled breeze pierces the heat, a sudden whirlwind of leaves scatter on the ground. More starlings arrive and begin to accustom themselves to the location their flock will call home for the coming winter. Only the observant will notice.

This months work includes birds, flowers, monsters, musical themes, and other delights. Many small paintings are in the works, perfect for adding a little touch of art. Images coming soon!

Next

White Linnen NIght

All new work!
These originals approx 9x12 for $85
Various matted 8x10 prints for $12

Those little dots on the flower are from when it started raining while I was photographing these. No harm done.

"What the Late Night Moths See"
approx 9x12
Acrylic and assorted media on paper

I learned that butterflies can see into the ultraviolet spectrum, so they can see colors that we do not. I am using some imagination and florescent paint to depict how they might see flowers differently.

"Minon Woman"
approx 9x12
Acrylic on paper

The ancient sculpture of the Minoan snake goddess inspired this fanciful piece, a post modern imagining of the ancient world.

"The Angel in February"
approx 9x12
Acrylic on Paper

My vision of this angel is of moonlight reflected by snow. In February many trees have no leaves, only flowers. Florescent pigments make a luminous presence.

These and many others will also be avail in matted 8x10 prints on sale just for White Linnen Night for only $20.

Soon matted prints will be for sale online.

Who is this Sage person?

Hi!

Thanks for visiting my blog!

This is my storefront site where I post art, but if you want to check out some of what goes on behind the scenes, please visit my other blog, The Making of Sage Rose Art.

It tells about how I became an artist and a little bit of my background.

It also includes resources for artists, inspirational stories, book and movie reviews, as well as some random and innane ramblings.

I also want to include profiles of my friends and their work, so if you know me, please drop me a note and give me permission to say wonderful things about you!
